Natural nail hardeners for healthy nails

Long fingernails can be achieved without fingernail products such as nail hardeners. In fact, nail hardeners actually cause your nails more harm, and in the long run you probably won't have the longer stronger fingernails you are after.Using a nail product such as a hardener can cause your fingernails to become brittle and split, doing the total opposite to what you want the product to do. When using a nail hardener, it is very important to not over use it.

There are a variety of hardeners on the market to choose from, some good and some not so good. Most nail hardeners contain a chemical called formaldehyde, and it is this particular chemical which will cause your nails to become brittle and weak.Your fingernails are made from a protein called keratin, and keratin is amino acids in long chains which are bound together to create your nail plate.Keratin strands are tough because of cross linking, your hair also contains cross linked strands of protein, all twisted up to produce a single fibre of protein.

Not having enough of these cross links will cause you to have weak fingernails, and nail hardeners are designed to help with this nail problem.A nail hardener with formaldehyde will work with the keratin in the nail plate, to create more cross links. The problem is, your nail hardener will create too many cross links and your fingernails lose any flexibility, therefore your nails will break and spit easily. You can buy nail hardeners which don't contain this particular chemical, you can also strengthen your nails by using olive oil, sunflower oil, or almond oil which are fantastic and natural.

Soak your fingernails in warm olive oil for about 15 min daily and in between soaks, massage your nails with olive oil.Sunflower oil is another great oil to use; it is rich in vitamin E and clinically proven to help strengthen fingernails. Soak your nails in a small bowl of sunflower oil once a day for 15 min and massage into nails in between soaks.Massage almond oil into your fingernails after washing hands, having a shower, doing dishes. Almond oil will quickly absorb into your nails and help keep them moisturized.I have found the best way to take advantage of one of these oils, is to get an old nail polish bottle, or nail hardener bottle, put it in boiling water for a few min to clean it, then fill with your favourite oil.

Not only is using one of the above oils cheaper, they are full of goodness and great for your fingernails. Fingernails need to be moisturized just like your skin, and you will notice a big difference to your fingernails health by massaging with oils such as; olive oil, sunflower oil or almond oil into your nails daily. http://www.ultraimports.com.au/legal.php
